Commission
What is it?
One of the most commonly asked questions is “What is a commission?”. In art, a commission is a privately sponsored project that an individual orders from the artist. It is enjoyable and super exciting for me. A commission can be anything - such as an image for an album cover, a painting that has specific details that the client may ask for, a painted ceramic piece, a logo, or even a birthday card.
I do all of the above!
How to start
You wear the captain’s hat now and the first step as a commissioner is to tell me what you envision and what medium you want. I do paintings in watercolor, gouache, ink, oils, acrylic, and on illustrator apps. If you’re like me and can’t decide, I am happy to email you examples of what each medium looks like.
Email me with a description of what you would like in the piece. This may include: objects, people, scenes, landscapes, collages
If you have a budget or a time frame, let me know. We can negotiate! #teamwork
Dimensions of the piece - how large or small
Commission Fee of $120 that can be paid at “Commissions Pay Here” (If you decide to make me one lucky contractor!)
What to expect from me
I love working on commissioned work and the more, the merrier! I understand that you may have a particular image in your mind, so here are some questions that I may ask you to get a more accurate idea:
What kind of colors do you have in your space? (Knowing your color scheme helps me create a design that can harmonize with your space)
Where would it be displayed? (If the painting is large, knowing where it would be hung would help me with my design)
Would you like your painting gallery wrapped? (Canvas paintings only) Gallery wrapping is when the scene extends to the side of the canvas so viewers can get a 180-degree experience
What type of payment method do you prefer? Currently, I accept cash, PayPal, and Venmo.
